A Cautionary Tale of The Wig

Having been disappointed by my hairdresser over the weekend, come Monday morning, I bring out my wig saved only for rainy days such as this. I make it to work at 8:30am in one piece and for the first five minutes it seems like it’s going to be a nice average work day. That is until my vision starts to blur, I blink rapidly, trying to clear my vision. I’m already panicking as I try to figure out what’s causing the blurry vision. Was I going blind? I had heard stories of instant blindness. I tried to think of what new thing I had done today. The wig? Nah!

It was only when my head started throbbing that it occurred to me that it could really could be the wig. But it wasn’t even it tight! Locking my office door, I removed the wig but that didn’t help ease any of the symptoms. Putting the wig back on, I immediately dialled my boss saying I was suddenly feeling sick and needed to go home.  I was feeling so faint I wasn’t even sure if I would make it home.

Back home and in bed with a pounding headache, wig off and two ibuprofen tabs in me,  I eventually fall asleep. Fast forward six hours later, I wake feeling as good as new. I vowed never to wear a wig again. Ok maybe vowed is too strong but we’ll see how it goes.
